Revitalizing Islamic Religious Education in the Digital Era: Integrating Islamic Epistemology and Manhaj Al-Mahabbah

This library research examines the revitalization of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the digital era through the framework of Islamic epistemology and Love-Based Curriculum (Manhaj Al-Mahabbah). Employing a systematic literature review of primary sources, including the works of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and contemporary Islamic education literature indexed in Scopus, WOS, and Sinta, this study identifies three principal crises in PAI: an epistemological crisis (disconnection between knowledge and lived experience), a methodological crisis (dominance of cognitive-memorization approaches), and an ecosystem crisis (fragmentation between formal, non-formal, and informal digital Islamic education). Based on these findings, this study proposes an integrated revitalization formula that synergizes the pesantren principle of al-muhafazhah 'ala al-qadim al-salih wa al-akhdz bi al-jadid al-aslah, Al-Attas' concept of ta'dib, and Manhaj Al-Mahabbah as the transformative driving force. Implications include reorienting PAI objectives from cognitive transfer toward the formation of digital insan adabi, transforming the PAI teacher's role into that of a digital adab mentor (murabbi adab digital), and building an integrated digital PAI ecosystem
